MMA Fashion - A Diverse Demographic
MMA Fashion is becoming quite the trend - even with old dudes and chicks (no offense)! It is not uncommon to see a 48-year old rich, white suburbanite dude rocking TapouT, Affliction, Sinister, Warrior Wear or a variety of many other hardcore, designer, MMA-related brands. Or even a soccer mom doing the same.
Everyone knows that teens and 20-somethings regularly sport this new genre of clothing, but why have the baby boomers latched onto MMA Fashion? One older dude I know rocks his Affliction tees everytime he's not in a corporate setting (granted, he's kind of a poser trying to hang on to his youth and seem cool to his son's friends) but for the most part, the 40-somethings I've met rocking TapouT shirts are pretty freakin' cool.
The most likely conclusion as to this why this phenomenon is happening (and it is a phenomenon) is the most obvious and it's two-fold:
1. PEOPLE OF ALL AGES LOVE MMA
2. MMA FASHION IS DIVERSE WITHIN ITSELF WHICH ALLOWS MORE FREEDOM TO EXPRESS ONESELF
In other words, its not often that you run into someone wearing the exact same MMA shirt as you - which counts for a lot. No matter what age we are, we always want to feel unique.
As a lover of MMA, I say more power to the 40-somethings! Anyone who supports the sport is a friend of mine...unless you're a poser.
